The Cottage
Dolphin Cottage 30 Low Shore, Whitehills is a typical North East Scottish fisherman's cottage dating back to 1880. Dolphin Cottage almost sits on the beach on the edge of the sea. It offers stunning views of the Moray Firth and Banffshire coast not to mention the passing wildlife of dolphins, seals and whales.
The Lounge
There are two comfortable sitting rooms in the cottage The first is the lounge. This room has plenty of comfortable seating with two sofas and a tartan fireside chair. This is a perfect room to relax by the fire. The large HD television sits above the fireplace. The plain blue sofa here can be pulled out as a double bed allowing Dolphin Cottage to accommodate two more people if required.
The Dining / Kitchen
The kitchen was completely redesigned in 2014. There are modern handmade free standing units perfectly complimented by antique furniture that is the same age as the cottage. There is a modern electric range cooker, a pretty cream coloured fridge, a washer/dryer, a dish washer, a microwave and toaster. The cupboards are well equipped with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. A handmade kitchen table sits by the window and is complemented perfectly by the Victorian kitchen chairs. The table can seat eight comfortably.
Bedroom 1 - The twin room
The first bedroom is on the ground floor and has two single beds. The beds can be set up as one super king bed (6 feet wide) if required. There is a bespoke handmade wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and shelving. The seaside pictures compliment the seaside blue theme.
On the first floor there are 2 further bedrooms, the family bathroom and an en suite shower room.
Dolphin Watching Room
We call the second sitting room “The Dolphin Watching Room” since it has unsurpassed sea views and dolphins are often seen passing by. This room has three large windows looking straight out to sea. There is a stylish tartan sofa as well as further comfortable seating all facing towards the spectacular sea views. On the darker nights it would be possible to see the northern lights (Aurora Borealis) from these windows or from the large roof windows. Of course if the sea, wildlife and Northern Lights are not enough there is also an additional wall mounted HD television to look at!
Bedroom 2
The second bedroom has a honey coloured pine king size bed. The bedroom has sloping ceilings with roof windows on both sides which look out over Whitehills. There is a handmade wooden wardrobe which provides plenty of space for your clothes. The bedroom is light and bright.
Master Bedroom
The third bedroom is the Master Bedroom with an en suite shower room. The bedroom is furnished with a mahogany king sized sleigh bed .This bedroom has another handmade wardrobe. The bedroom could just as well be called “The Dolphin Watching Bedroom” since there are two large windows on both sides of the bedroom and both offer stunning sea views of the beautiful Moray and Banffshire coastline.
The Family Bathroom
The family bathroom has a Victorian inspired slipper bath, a large wash hand basin, toilet and a large walk in electric shower.
The Patio
Outside at the side of the “Dolphin watching room” you will find a patio area. Here you will find a retractable clothes line and a nice area to sit on a sunny day. You will find garden chairs in the kitchen dresser which you use to relax and enjoy the stunning views.
